Two Early 20th-Century Charles Robinson Colour Lithographs entitled The Catch and The Bait - Two early 20th-century colour lithographs by British illustrator Charles Robinson (1870-1937). The prints feature romanticised 18th-century Rococo-style vignettes within elaborate decorative borders comprising cherubs, scrollwork, and floral motifs. The first print, titled The Catch, depicts a man and woman in an outdoor garden setting accompanied by the Shakespearean quotation, What's done cannot be now amended. The second print, titled The Bait, shows a lady in an elaborate blue gown at her dressing table with the text, Which is the greater sport, answer me, to fish for fishes or to entrap men?. Each print bears a handwritten signature reading Charles Robinson in the lower left of the central oval border. They are presented in matching ornate gilt-finished frames with triple mounts in cream and salmon pink.
