Late-Victorian Stained Hardwood High-Back Rocking Armchair - A Late-Victorian or Edwardian high-back rocking armchair constructed from dark-stained hardwood. The chair features a tall back with a shaped top rail terminating in scrolled ends, positioned above a central splat decoratively pierced with a wheel motif and a heart-shaped cutout. The splat is flanked by four slender vertical spindles on each side. The out-swept armrests are supported by turned spindles and thick, rounded posts. A circular seat is inset with a hand-woven cane panel. The chair is supported on turned legs joined by two side stretchers and mounted upon curved wooden rockers. No maker's marks, stamps, or brands are visible.
