Vintage Morecambe and Heysham Topographical and Novelty Postcards including Bamforth and Valentine & Sons - A collection of vintage postcards primarily depicting the seaside town of Morecambe and the neighbouring village of Heysham, Lancashire, dating from the mid-20th-century, approximately 1950s to 1970s. The cards comprise a mixture of black-and-white real photo topographical views with scalloped edges and colour-printed lithographic cards. Subjects include prominent local landmarks such as the Super Swimming Stadium, Marineland, the Clock Tower, and the Moby Dick ship, alongside aerial views of the Leisure Centre and various promenade scenes at Sandylands and the Central Promenade. Several cards feature multi-view compositions or novelty animal subjects including a cocker spaniel, a black cat, and a donkey in a hat. The collection includes examples with printed serial numbers prefixed ET, such as ET.610 and ET.5841, identifying them as the work of Valentine & Sons Ltd. An included handwritten note on a white card reads Bamforth Morecambe Postcards, attributing a portion of the collection to Bamforth & Co. Ltd.
