Vintage Steiff Jointed Mohair Teddy Bear - A vintage Steiff jointed mohair teddy bear, produced in Giengen, Germany. The bear is constructed from golden-blonde curly mohair plush with traditional five-way jointing at the neck, shoulders, and hips. It features dark eyes, a black hand-embroidered nose and mouth, and matching stitched claws on all four limbs. The paws and feet are finished with light tan-coloured felt pads. This example retains its authentic manufacturer identifiers: a silver-toned metal button in the left ear embossed with the name Steiff, and an attached yellow cloth ear tag printed with the maker's name in red. A white circular card chest tag is also present, featuring a printed black script Steiff logo above the word Original and curved text at the top reading Giengen/Germany. The bear possesses a traditional humpbacked profile and a slightly pointed muzzle.
