Mid-20th Century G.E.C. ST 2501 Bakelite Rotary Dial Telephone - A mid-20th century British rotary dial telephone, manufactured by the General Electric Company (G.E.C.). The piece is constructed with a black Bakelite cabinet and matching handset, connected by a brown braided fabric-covered cord. The base features a rotary dial with a polished metal finger wheel and a central paper instruction card. The handset handle is embossed with a G.E.C. oval mark and MADE IN ENGLAND. The underside consists of a grey-painted metal base plate stamped WHEN RE-ORDERING QUOTE CAT. NO. ST 2501. The dial centre retains an original paper label printed 73 IN CASE OF FIRE RING 99.
