Two Afghan Baluchi Hand-Knotted Wool Tribal Rugs - Two hand-knotted wool rugs of tribal origin, likely Baluchi or Afghan in production. The first piece is a long runner featuring a central field divided into rectangular panels, each containing a stylized tree or shrub motif in dark blue and brown against a muted madder red ground. This field is framed by a main border of repeating scroll-like motifs and multiple geometric guard stripes, including a meander or Greek key pattern at the ends. The second piece is a small square mat centering on a large octagonal medallion with a cruciform star motif in orange, dark blue, and green. This is surrounded by multiple narrow borders of geometric floral patterns and is finished with a thick, multi-coloured fringe of alternating red and green wool bundles. Both items are constructed with a hand-knotted woollen pile on a wool foundation. No maker's marks, signatures, or woven inscriptions are visible on either piece.
