Edwardian Joseph Gloster Sterling Silver Vesta Case 18.55g. - An Edwardian sterling silver vesta case of rectangular form with a hinged lid and suspension ring. The exterior is decorated with elaborate hand-engraved foliate scrollwork and fine textured grounds to both sides. The base features an integrated striker plate. The interior rim of the body is struck with a series of British hallmarks including the maker mark 'JG' in a rectangular shield for Joseph Gloster, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the lowercase date letter 'n' corresponding to the year 1912.
