19th-Century European Diplomatic Dress Sword with Etched Blade and Red Leather Scabbard - A 19th-century European diplomatic or civil service dress sword, featuring a stiff tapering blade with a triangular cross-section. The blade is elaborately decorated with etched, blued, and gilt motifs, including a standing cockerel, sunbursts, a quadruped, and a crown-like device. The forte of the blade bears a faint, multi-word script signature which is not clearly legible as a specific maker. The hilt is constructed with a brass crossguard featuring spatulate quillons, a textured wire-wrapped grip, and a brass urn-shaped pommel. The accompanying scabbard is crafted from wood or composite material covered in dark red leather, fitted with a brass locket and chape. The locket is detailed with horizontal linear ribbing and a frog stud for belt attachment. No further hallmarks or maker's marks are visible.
