JB Haycock Watercolor Study of a Rural Farmstead - A 20th-century landscape study executed in watercolour on paper, depicting a traditional two-story rural farmhouse or cottage with an adjacent outbuilding. The architecture features a pitched slate-effect roof, prominent brick chimneys, and a facade finished in contrasting pale blue and pink tones. The composition is framed by mature trees to the left and a smaller tree to the right, set against a backdrop of distant hills under a pale, atmospheric sky rendered with wet-in-wet washes. The artist utilizes calligraphic brushwork to define the foliage and structural details. The work is signed J B Haycock in black ink to the lower right corner. It is presented in a double-ruled grey card mount and housed within a gilt-finished wooden frame under glass. No further marks or inscriptions are visible on the front of the piece.
