Contemporary Egyptian Papyrus Painting Depicting The Meidum Geese - A contemporary Egyptian papyrus painting, presented as a long horizontal frieze. The composition is a modern interpretation of the famous Old Kingdom wall painting known as the Meidum Geese. The artwork is executed in gouache and metallic gold pigments on a sheet of light-coloured, fibrous papyrus with characteristic deckled edges. The subject matter features six geese arranged in two groups of three, standing along a stylized riverbank depicted in vibrant blue with zigzag patterns, populated by fish and lotus flowers. The upper portion of the scene is bordered by a decorative frieze consisting of floral rosettes and pendant lotus buds. The painting is float-mounted against a black ground and housed within a gold-toned moulded wooden frame under glass. No maker's marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on the front of the artwork.
