Bidspirit auction | Two Modern Weathered Composite Stone

Two Modern Weathered Composite Stone Seated Gothic Hounds Garden Statues - Two composite stone garden statues or finials, modelled in the Gothic Revival-style as seated mastiffs or gargoyle-like dogs. Each figure is depicted in an upright, seated position on a rectangular integral plinth base. The statues are crafted from reconstituted stone with a heavily weathered surface, featuring expressive faces with wide-open mouths, prominent teeth, large eyes, and pointed ears. Each canine wears a distinctive, thick chain-link collar around its neck. The surfaces exhibit extensive natural weathering, including moss and lichen growth across the heads and bodies, providing a matured patina typical of long-term outdoor display. No maker marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on any of the exterior surfaces or base edges. Height: Approximately 56cm (22 inches) to the top of the head.
