Late 19th or Early 20th-century Log Cabin Barn Raising Pattern Patchwork Quilt - A handmade patchwork quilt featuring a traditional Log Cabin pattern, specifically arranged in a Barn Raising variation to create concentric diamond motifs. The quilt top is constructed from various cotton and cotton-blend fabrics, employing a high-contrast palette of deep reds, maroons, teals, and navy blues for the dark sides of the blocks, juxtaposed with cream, beige, and sage green fabrics for the light sides. The fabrics include a variety of small-scale calico prints with floral, dotted, and geometric patterns alongside solid turkey red style textiles. The piece is finished with a plain off-white cotton backing and features hand-quilted stitching in a diagonal diamond grid across the entire surface. The binding is formed by a fold-over of the backing material. No maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the quilt top or backing. Length: approximately 223-226 cm.
