Kathlyn Pagador Kapes Contemporary Mixed Media Painting on Canvas - A contemporary mixed media painting by Kathlyn Pagador, dated January 2009. This early work from Kapes is executed on a stretched canvas support and features a highly textured, expressionistic composition depicting two stylized faces. The artist has employed a variety of materials including thick impasto acrylic paint, exposed raw canvas, and high-relief collage elements consisting of wadded and painted fabric or tissue to represent flowing red hair. The palette is dominated by earthy browns, stark whites, and vibrant accents of red, green, and yellow, applied with energetic, gestural strokes. The verso of the canvas bears a handwritten inscription in black ink which reads January 09 / Kapes. No other marks or signatures are visible.
