Bidspirit auction | Industrial Cast Iron Pedestal Plinth

Industrial Cast Iron Pedestal Plinth - A late 19th or early 20th-century industrial architectural plinth, likely intended as a supportive base for a column, gate post, or heavy machinery. The component is cast from heavy-duty iron and features a flared, tiered rectangular profile with a hollow interior and a stepped, moulded design consistent with Victorian or Edwardian exterior architecture. The exterior surface is finished in a weathered, patinated texture showing multiple historical layers of paint in shades of cream, yellow, and green. An internal mark is visible within the hollow interior, consisting of the impressed digits 8, 1, and 2; no other maker's marks, foundry stamps, or signatures are discernible.
