Bidspirit auction | Six Mixed Material Decorative Elephant

Six Mixed Material Decorative Elephant Figurines - Six decorative elephant figurines of varying materials and styles, likely 20th-century export ware from India and Southeast Asia. The group includes two large hand-carved hardwood elephants, one with a natural grain finish and another with a dark-stained, finely cross-hatched textured surface to simulate skin. A further dark wood example features hand-painted gold and red floral scroll patterns across the cranium and back, while another dark wood figure is decorated with deeply carved relief patterns depicting an ornate saddle cloth. The collection also comprises a cast metal elephant with a silver-toned finish and an embossed howdah, and a light-toned composite figure with a textured surface mimicking aged ivory, featuring circular scroll motifs carved into the legs. No maker's marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on any of the pieces.
