EGYPTIAN FAIENCE WEDJAT - EYE OF HORUS AMULET
Late Period, Ca. 664-332 BC.A glazed composition wedjat amulet, more commonly known as the Eye of Horus. The front displays linear carvings of the eye components. The reverse of the pendant remains unworked. This stylised and symbolic amulet was magical and offered the owner a source of protection and strength. Cf. W.M.F. Petrie, Amulets, Plates XXIV-XXV.
