BYZANTINE GLASS CUP DECORATED WITH INSCRIPTION - Ca. AD 300 - 400. An early Byzantine glass cup with a decorated cylindrical body, depicting on the main register an inscription with greek characters. The bottom is adorned with a moulded geometric motif and the top bears a very fine vertical rim. For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 13850, Antiquities, Lot. 241.
