RARE ISLAMIC GLASS FLASK
Ca. AD 700 - 900.A glass sprinkler flask boasting an onion-shaped lower body that gracefully flares into a long tubular neck adorned with a beautifully crafted relief bird. The vertical ribs of the flask twist clockwise and are impeccably executed, adding depth and texture to the design. The piece is elevated by a concave foot, giving it a sense of stability and grandeur. Glassmaking in the early Islamic world was a highly regarded art form that flourished during the 7th and 8th centuries. The Islamic world's contributions to glassmaking were significant, pioneering new techniques and innovations that continue to influence the industry today. Islamic glassmaking was characterized by its intricate designs, exquisite craftsmanship, and diverse range of colors.
