BRONZE AGE, HOLY LAND FERTILITY GODDESS
Ca. 2000 BC.A rare terracotta bust of a fertility goddess, originating from Ashkalon, displaying notable Egyptian influence in its design. The facial features are simplified, with hair arranged around the face adorned with dotted patterns. The hands are positioned to support the breast, contributing to the cult of fertility. The reverse side is flat and unworked. Mounted on a custom-made stand.Size: 90mm x 60mm; Weight: 190gProvenance: Private London collection, acquired on the US art market; Ex.
