Ca. 2200 - 1500 BCA rare Bactrian stone oil lamp with a five-pointed star shape and a central circular oil reservoir. This lamp would hold up to five wicks fueled from a central oil compartment. Incised in the centre is a large round dot. These lamps were employed in domestic and ritual settings, offering light.Size: 160mm x 45mm; Weight: 375gProvenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014;Ex. Bill & Lynda Beierwaltes collection, 2007. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
