Ca. 1675 - 1046 BC A Chinese bronze ding vessel. The two-handled body is supported on a tripod and is decorated with dragon and taotie masks. Ding vessels were an important ritual bronze used for wine and food. The common decorations included various abstract animal forms with taotie being the most mysterious and widely depicted.
