MEDIEVAL BRONZE RING DEPICTING A FLOWER
Ca. AD 900 - 1300 A medieval bronze ring featuring a round hoop with a D-shaped section. The flat bezel is adorned with a flower of life with eight petals, and the shoulders are decorated with a zig-zag motif. Byzantine Christian rings often featured religious symbols and were thought to provide physical and spiritual protection, whilst also serving as markers of social status and identity.
