SUPERB VILLANOVAN POTTERY AMPHORA
Ca. 800 - 600 BCA large Villanovan terracotta globular jar with a broad-shouldered body tapering to the base. The cylindrical neck features a wide flange. Two diagonally oriented handles protrude from the shoulders. The shoulder section is further embellished with a pair of 'horns.' The vase is decorated with red/brown painting on the entire body.Size: 310mm x 310mm; Weight: 2.61kgProvenance: Private UK collection; From an old British collection formed in the 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
