Ca. AD 500 - 700 .A stunning Byzantine necklace comprising of pink and white pearls that alternate with gold beads. In the centre of the necklace is a 23.5ct gold cross-shaped pendant with conical arms that is embellished in the centre, with a secondary cross motif.Size: 265/530mm x 45mm; Weight: 23gProvenance: Private UK collection; From an old British collection formed in the 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. This piece comes with an authentication report by Sami Fortune, ancient jewellery specialist.
