Ca. 300 BC - AD 100. A bronze Montefortino helmet comprised of a single sheet of cast and hammered bronze. This type of helmet was first used by the Celtic and Etruscan people, but it was later adopted by the armies of Republican Rome. The central knob in the centre of the helmet could be used to attach a plume or feathers for identification and decoration.
