RARE EGYPTIAN PORPHYRITIC STONE BOWL
Early Dynastic Period, Ca. 2800 - 2300 BC.A stunning Egyptian porphyritic stone bowl in a traditional form of the period. This patella bowl is mesmerising due to the cut and polish of the stone. The black stone reveals a beautiful pattern when held to the light. The bowl has a hemispherical base with a blackened appearance, which supports the bowl of the cup.
