LATE ROMAN GOLD PENDANT WITH CAMEO DEPICTING MEDUSA
Ca. AD 200 - 300.A late Roman gold pendant with an agate cameo of Medusa's head made in a naturalistic manner. Medusa has a large oval face that is framed by hair and snakes, surmounted with two large wings. The cameo is set in a gold frame decorated with stylised flame palmette, the top of the frame has a triple gold hoop to connect a rope or chain.
