LARGE ROMAN SILVER SPOON
Ca. AD 300 - 500.A Roman shallow spoon made from silver, known as a cochlearium. The bowl of the spoon is a rounded, with a handle that narrows to a point at the end. This narrow point was used for extracting snails or seafood from the shell. The bowl is joined to the handle by an elegantly curved, thick piece of silver.
