SELJUK GEOMETRIC STUCCO RELIEF TILE
Ca. AD 1100 - 1200. A rectangular stucco relief tile featuring an arabesque pattern detailing six hexagons surrounding a central six-pointed star containing a six-petalled flower within strapwork designs. The Seljuks, a Turkic dynasty from Central Asia, formed an empire in 1037 AD and made significant contributions to Islamic art and architecture.
