RARE EGYPTIAN PALE GREEN FAIENCE USHABTI OF THE PRIEST PA-DI-USIR SON OF SETJA-IRET-BINT
End of XXXth Dynasty/Beginning of the Ptolemaic Period (Ca. 379 - 280 BC). A faience ushabti with a tall, mummiform stance atop an integral rectangular plinth. The lower part of the body is inscribed with hieroglyphs. The figure holds a pick and hoe in crossed arms, with a thatched seed bag draped over the left shoulder. The face features almond-shaped eyes with elongated canthi, a slender nose with defined nostrils, indented mouth corners, cupped ears, and a plaited false beard. These details are framed by the striated lappets of a tripartite wig. This piece is accompanied by an authentication statement by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
