The auction showcases a spectacular array of antiquities from the Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Viking, Medieval and Western Asiatic cultures ranging between 6000 BC to 1600 AD. The sale will be held live at our Central London showroom, 63 ? 64 Margaret Street, W1W 8SW, and online via the Apollo Art Auctions platform. The auction boasts items from the Prince collection from lot 1 to lot 261, as well as other incredible provenances such as the collections of Jacques Carre, Naji Asfar, Eric Strobel, Georgia Chrischilles, Louis-Gabriel Bellon, Khawam brothers, Kurt Flimm, Leo Mildenberg, Xavier Guerrand-Hermes, Gaston Maspero Archaeological Fund, Elsa Bloch-Diener, Mrs B. COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN FAIENCE BES AMULETS
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A collection of twelve faience amulets. Each represents Bes, the dwarf deity, depicted with prominent features, and squat proportions. Most pieces are suitable for suspension, with loops present. The colour range includes classic blue glaze, turquoise, greyish hues, and one red example.
