JAVANESE GOLD EARRINGS
Ca. AD 900 - 1200. A pair of 20 ct gold earrings formed by four polygonal gold lobes and settings for cabochon gems at the front. For similar see: Sotheby's, Magnificent Lustre, Southeast Asian Gold Jewellery and Ornaments from an Asian Private Collection, 01-08.09.2022, Lot 58. This piece has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm the metallurgical content suggesting its ancient origin and lack of modern trace elements. Size: 18-20mm x 11-15mm; Weight: 7g Provenance: Property of a London Islamic art specialist collector; previously in a family London collection formed since the 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
