19TH CENTURY REPLICA OF A MILITARY FLAIL
Ca. AD 1800 - 1840A 19th century replica Medieval spherical flail with a chain and metal cone connecting it to the wooden pole. These weapons have been used since the Middle Ages to attack enemies from a distance. Usually, foot soldiers used them against knights or from the boats to kill the enemies on the other boats. We can see the use of these weapons in the paintings and books.Size: 420mm x 35mm; Weight: 395gProvenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old Canadian collection of F. N., Ontario, formed in the 1980s.
