MASSIVE EGYPTIAN PALE GREEN FAIENCE USHABTI WITH INSCRIPTION
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A pale green faience ushabti depicted mummiform, standing on an integral plinth with a dorsal pillar extending on the back. The arms are crossed over the chest, holding a pick and hoe and a seed bag behind the left shoulder. The facial features include almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and a gently curved mouth. A plaited false beard extends from the chin. The striated tripartite wig frames the face, falling over the shoulders. Rows of hieroglyphic inscriptions run down the lower section of the body.
