EGYPTIAN NECKLACE WITH FAIENCE, GOLD AND CARNELIAN BEADS
Ca. 1550 - 332 BC. A restrung broad collar necklace composed of a row of turquoise-blue faience tubular beads framed by small reddish-brown disc beads. The lower edge features a network of strung elements forming a fringe of interlinked strands. This section incorporates spherical gold, polished carnelian, and dark-coloured stone beads arranged in symmetrical clusters. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition. Size: 190mm x 160mm; Weight: 65.16g Provenance: Private UK collection, acquired on the US art market; Ex. Private Brooklyn collection, purchased from Harmer Rooke Galleries, NYC, 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
