EGYPTIAN FAIENCE NECKLACE WITH CENTRAL STAMP SEAL
Third Intermediate Period, Ca. 1069 - 664 BC. A restrung necklace composed of two strands of threaded small, annular faience beads in varying colours. The strands are interspersed with small decorative spacers. At the centre, a square-shaped stamp seal serves as a pendant, carved with a stylised, geometric pattern. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.Size: 405/810mm x 23mm; Weight: 32.52gProvenance: Private UK collection, acquired on the US art market, pre-2000.
