RARE EGYPTIAN BONE HEAD OF A DOG
Middle Kingdom, Ca. 1938 - 1758 BC. A carved bone head of a dog with a pointed snout and shallowly incised nostrils. The almond-shaped eyes stare forward, and the ears hang down along the sides of the head. The tapered neck is wrapped with a thin gold sheet.Size: 20.3mm x 19.1mm; Weight: 2.08gProvenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Phoenix Ancient Art, 29 October 2007. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
