WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE PICK HEAD AXE AND CEREMONIAL MACE
Ca. 2500 - 900 BC. A pair of bronze weapons. The first is a pick axe featuring a socketed tubular body, with a long, tapered, polygonal pick that comes to a sharp point. On the back, there is a moulded figure of a standing quadruped. The second piece is a ceremonial bronze mace head, which has a tubular body and an enlarged bulb decorated with engraved diagonal lines.
