BACTRIAN SCHIST LID WITH BULLS AND GEOMETRIC PATTERNS
Ca. 2000 - 1500 BC. A square schist lid with slightly rounded corners, finely engraved with a central recessed circle surrounded by incised geometric motifs, including chevrons and diamond grids. Each corner is decorated with a bull's head in relief, enclosed within rectangular panels. The outer band is framed with linear and zigzag borders.Size: 125mm x 125mm; Weight: 310gProvenance: Private London collection; previously in a 1980s Mayfair Family private collection. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
