STUNNING ASSYRIAN BRONZE HELMET
Ca. 800 - 600 BC. A bronze helmet of conical form composed of two vertical halves joined along a central seam reinforced by riveting. The elongated bowl extends downwards at the sides to form rounded cheek guards. The lower edge of the helmet, including cheekpieces, is finished with a narrow, moulded band.For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 22496.Size: 335mm x 205mm; Weight: 545gProvenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired from Samy Tarab collection, Switzerland 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
