ROMAN BRONZE BULL IDOL
Ca. AD 1 - 200. A bronze figurine of a bull, cast in the round and standing freely on all four legs. The head has two long, tapering horns extending upwards in a pronounced V-shape. The neck is short and muscular, transitioning into a broad body with a gently arched back and rounded haunches. Legs are rendered in solid cylindrical form with minimal detailing, and the tail is positioned close to the body and curves to the side.For similar see: J . E.
