ROMAN BRONZE APPLIQUE WITH GALLOPING HORSE
Ca. AD 200. A bronze appliqué depicting a horse in mid-gallop, positioned on an integral rectangular base. Legs are shown in dynamic extension, and the long, arched tail curves back towards the base. The head is held high, with indicated ears and muzzle. For similar see: J. E. Bonnet, Le bronzes Antiques de Paris, Musee Carnevalet, 1989, Cat. 34, p. 101.; M.
