We are excited to announce our June auction, Fine Ancient Art - Shipwrecked Phoenician Treasures. It will be taking place on the 7th of June 2025, at 15:00 GMT. This sale features a significant group of terracotta votive statuettes. Each piece in this collection has been both published and exhibited, underscoring its significance and enhancing its provenance. To complement your acquisition, a copy of the beautifully illustrated and scholarly publication in which the item is featured will accompany every order. For condition reports or any inquiries, please contact us at enquiries@apolloauctions.com. Payments can be made in USD, GBP, or EUR. All items will be shipped from Spain and, in accordance with cultural heritage regulations, require an official export license. We will manage this process for you; however, please note that the license and the shipping process may take up to six weeks.

PHOENICIAN TERRACOTTA MALE FIGURE POSSIBLY IN A POSE OF PRAYER - TL TESTED
Ca. 6th century BC A terracotta sculpture depicting a man dressed in a classical tunic and with a hairstyle of classical form. The piece belongs to a group of Phoenician terracottas discovered underwater in the 1950s, possibly originating from Phoenician temples and representing Phoenicians and their principal activities in the form of votive figures. Size: 100 cm. Provenance: Private European collection of Ancient Art; Ex New York Antiquities Gallery pre-2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. All items are accompanied by a European export license. Each item has been published and exhibited. A copy of the published book will be provided with each lot.
