EGYPTIAN FAIENCE BEAD NET FUNERARY SHROUD
New Kingdom to Late Period, Ca. 1550 - 332 BC. A funerary bead net made from faience tubular beads interspersed with small rings in varying shades of green, blue, and turquoise, strung together in a lattice pattern. Red and yellow disc beads form a narrow border along all sides. The net would originally have been placed over the mummy as a protective funerary covering. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.For similar see: National Museums Liverpool, Accession number 50.17.16.Size: 505mm x 164mm; Weight: 143gProvenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex.
