GROUP OF THREE JAPANESE TSUBA
Edo Period, Ca. AD 1603 - 1868. A group of three tsuba, comprising a pierced iron tsuba with a stylised butterfly and cloud motifs. A mokko-formed iron tsuba with rough surface texture, depicting a bird perched on gold inlaid foliage. A finely pierced tsuba depicting an immortal figure within gold inlaid clouds. Size: 70-85mm x 70-85mm; Weight: 285g. Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex Christies 16th May 2012, lot 215. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
