CHINESE YELLOW GROUND FAMILLE ROSE ”DRAGON” DISH, GUANGXU MARK AND OF THE PERIOD - Guangxu Period, Qing Dynasty, Ca. AD 1875 - 1908. >A finely painted famille rose porcelain dish, the interior richly enamelled on a vibrant imperial yellow ground with three sinuous five-clawed dragons in pursuit of a flaming pearl. Each dragon is depicted with dynamic, coiling bodies amidst scrolling ruyi-shaped clouds and stylised flames, rendered in iron-red, green, and blue enamels with meticulous scale detailing. The central medallion is set with a bright iron-red flaming pearl, symbolising power and cosmic energy.The cavetto is encircled by a continuous key-fret (leiwen) border in underglaze blue and iron-red, framing the lively interior scene.The base bears a six-character Guangxu mark in underglaze blue. >Provenance: Private UK Collection. >>Size: 50mm x 205mm; Weight: 370g >This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. >
