CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE LOTUS DISH, KANGXI MARK - Kangxi Period, Qing Dynasty, Ca. AD 1661 - 1722. >A finely potted blue and white porcelain dish of shallow rounded form, the interior decorated in rich cobalt-blue tones with a dense scrolling lotus design. The central medallion is filled with stylised lotus blooms borne on undulating leafy stems, interspersed with curling foliage and smaller floral elements, all rendered with fluid brushwork and pleasing tonal variation.The cavetto is encircled by a narrow band, and the rim is adorned with a continuous floral scroll border, neatly framing the interior decoration. The cobalt pigment displays characteristic depth and vibrancy, with areas of darker pooling contrasting against lighter washes.
