SINO-TIBETAN GILDED DANCING DAKINI - Ca. 18th century AD. > A finely cast and richly gilt copper alloy figure depicting a dancing dakini in dynamic posture, shown in animated movement with one leg raised and the body gracefully twisted. The figure balances upon a small support, her flowing scarves and sashes sweeping outward in elegant arcs that enhance the sense of motion. The dakini is adorned with an elaborate foliate crown inset with turquoise and coral cabochons, matching jewelled ornaments at the chest, arms, and waist. Her face is delicately modelled with a serene yet animated expression, framed by pendulous earrings and crowned by a high chignon. The torso is sensuously rendered, with finely detailed jewelry and a patterned skirt falling in rhythmic folds.
