NEPALESE BRONZE AMOGHAPASHA WITH BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI AND TARA - Ca. 18th - 19th century AD. > A finely cast bronze triadic group centred on Amoghapasha Lokeshvara, standing in elegant frontal pose upon a lotus pedestal and backed by an elaborate flaming aureole. The principal figure is depicted with multiple arms radiating symmetrically, each holding attributes associated with compassion and the salvific power of the bodhisattva, including the noose (pasha), symbolising the drawing of beings toward enlightenment. Amoghapasha is richly adorned with a foliate crown, necklaces, armlets, and a patterned lower garment, the torso sensitively modelled and the expression serene yet authoritative. The aureole rises in a pointed arch behind the figure, decorated with flame-like motifs and finely pierced elements. Flanking the central deity are two subsidiary seated figures: Buddha Shakyamuni to one side, depicted in meditation posture, and Tara to the other, shown in graceful seated pose, both set within smaller aureoles. Together they form a balanced and hierarchically arranged composition.
