STUNNING SET OF NEPALESE BONE APRON WITH CARVINGS OF GANESHA AND DANCING DAKINI - Ca. 16th - 17th century AD. > An elaborate ritual bone apron composed of intricately carved plaques and a network of beadwork. The upper register is set with a series of elongated rectangular plaques, each finely carved in relief with deities and auspicious figures, including depictions of Ganesha and dancing dakinis. Suspended below is an openwork arrangement of strung bone beads, interspersed with circular medallions carved with floral and symbolic motifs. The beaded strands form a geometric net terminating in small pendant clusters, enhancing the movement and visual complexity of the piece. > Provenance: Private UK Collection; Ex.
